WI Sports Mississauga defeated Toronto Lightning XI by seven wickets after chasing 138 in only 17.3 overs. The victory combined a balanced bowling performance with a decisive third-wicket partnership.
Shrey Arora set the tone with three wickets for 27 from four overs, including two wickets in the opening over. Captain Sandeep Prabha Sudha also took three wickets, while Danint Ponnary and Ishan Khanna claimed one apiece.
Govind Srivastav delivered the most economical spell of the innings, conceding only 16 runs from four overs. Kartik Gupta allowed 13 from two, and the fielders supported the attack with seven catches.
After two wickets fell inside nine overs, Ishan Khanna took responsibility for the chase. He remained unbeaten on 63 from 57 balls, striking nine fours and ensuring Mississauga stayed ahead of the required rate.
Rishab Sharma changed the pace of the innings with 40 from only 21 deliveries. His four fours and three sixes powered an 81-run partnership with Ishan and carried WI Sports to the brink of victory.
Satrohan Roopiesingh finished the contest immediately, striking a boundary from his only delivery as Mississauga reached 141 for three with 15 balls remaining.
The result showcased WI Sports Mississauga’s depth: early wickets, economical support bowling, secure catching and a composed chase led by Ishan’s unbeaten half-century.
