WI Sports Brampton completed an impressive six-wicket victory over GTA Capital Warriors at Gore Meadows, chasing 164 with three balls remaining after dismissing the opposition for 163.
Akhil Kumar delivered a superb new-ball spell, taking four wickets for only 18 runs from four overs. His 14 dot balls gave Brampton early control and helped reduce the opposition to 46 for five.
Ishan Khanna then struck three times for 17 runs from four overs. Khushbir Singh, Manjeet Saini and Malkeet claimed one wicket each as WI Sports Brampton bowled the opposition out in 19.2 overs.
Captain Priyanshu Verma gave the chase early momentum with 19 from 11 balls, including four boundaries. Khushbir Singh contributed 23 from 25, while Mohdeep Singh added 15 from 16.
Ishan Khanna took command of the pursuit with an unbeaten 58 from 31 balls. He struck three fours and four sixes at a strike rate of 187.10, ensuring the required rate remained within reach.
Manjeet Saini supported the chase with 25 from 24 balls before Rishab Sharma arrived to finish the contest. Rishab struck an unbeaten 16 from ten deliveries, including two fours.
Ishan’s all-round performance defined the victory: three wickets with the ball, 58 not out with the bat and the composure to carry WI Sports Brampton through a tense final phase.
