WI Sports Hamilton defeat Gujarat Super Kings by 52 runs

Nikhil Nair’s 46 and Pali’s five-wicket haul delivered a commanding first Division One victory.

WI Sports Hamilton earned a commanding 52-run victory over Gujarat Super Kings at Waterworks Park in Brantford, combining a competitive total with a relentless bowling performance in the 2026 HDCL T25 Elite Division.

After choosing to bat, captain Nikhil Nair anchored the innings with 46 from 39 balls, striking four fours and two sixes.

Arvind Iyer contributed 25 from 30 balls, helping Hamilton establish a steady platform through the opening half of the innings.

Manjeet Saini accelerated the scoring with 25 from 17 deliveries, including two sixes. Rajkrishnan R added 18 from 15 balls.

Gurpreet Singh supplied a sharp late contribution of 12 from five balls as WI Sports Hamilton reached 164 for nine from its 25 overs.

Hamilton’s bowlers then took complete control. Khushi Takhatmal produced five excellent overs, including a maiden, and took three wickets for only 18 runs.

Simran Singh claimed the opening wicket, while the fielding unit contributed important catches and a run-out to maintain the pressure.

Pali delivered the decisive spell, taking five wickets for 20 runs from four overs. He broke the middle and lower order in rapid succession and completed the dismissal of the opposition for 112 in 20 overs.

Rajkrishnan R also applied sustained pressure with an economical spell of three overs for nine runs, including a maiden. Gurpreet Singh conceded only 23 from four overs.

The 52-run result gave WI Sports Hamilton a statement victory built on depth, disciplined bowling and contributions throughout the lineup.
